About Us

Our Story

Our story began at Utah State University. We saw each other from across the parking lot and Spencer knew that he had to meet that girl! Talisha on the other hand thought, "that kid looks old," even though now she looks at pictures and clearly thinks we look like babies. We ended up hanging out that same night and hit it off pretty quickly. We saw each other a lot that semester and by the end, you couldn't keep us apart. We got married the following summer and honestly wish we hadn't waited so long! We both graduated from USU in 2018 and moved to Kaysville, Utah where Talisha teaches Special Education at Clearfield High School and Spencer works as a software engineer for Lockheed Martin.

Adoption is always something we have talked about, we just didn't think we would be led to it this quickly. As we began to try to start our family we quickly noticed obvious signs of infertility. After countless tests, doctor visits, and surgeries, with still no success, we started to consider adoption. We decided to attend an adoption conference before we just "jumped in" and it completely solidified our desire to move forward. We are so excited to be in the position we are at and can't wait to bring another member into our little family.

Some things that are very important to us is our faith and our family. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and love being apart of the community it provides us. We are so grateful for a Savior who understands our pain and our journey. We know His hand is in all things and can't wait to see where He leads us. Our family is our biggest support group and we honestly wouldn't be who we are or where we are at without them.

We both grew up in big families. Spencer is the oldest of 5, with 3 sisters and 1 brother. Talisha is the middle child and has 1 sister and 3 brothers. Our schedule is always filled with monthly activities, summer vacations, and holiday traditions that bring us together.

We also have many hobbies that we love to do together. As stated on our home page, we are big Utah Jazz fans. We love supporting them from our couch at home and in person. We try to attend at least one game each year. On Friday night's you can find us getting out all the fixings to make homemade pizza. On warm nights you will find us outside playing pickleball, basketball, tossing a frisbee, spike ball, and cornhole. In the summer, we love to paddleboard, go camping, have barbeques and roast marshmallows. In the winter we tend to stay indoors where we like to make homemade cinnamon rolls, watch movies, or have paint nights. No matter what the situation, the biggest thing for us is just being able to spend time with each other and our family.

talisha

Talisha is amazing!! She has taught me so much about what it means to be a friend and how to work hard. Every where she goes, she lights up the room with her smile. She is very kind, caring, and works extremely hard doing the best she can at whatever she does.

Talisha is in her second year as a high school Special Education teacher. She absolutely loves it! The passion and care she puts into helping her students is apparent in how much they have grown over this last year.

When she isn't teaching or prepping for her lessons, she enjoys going on walks, painting, cooking, or watching a movie. (I'm slowly converting her to playing ultimate frisbee with me - she is a natural!).

Since day one, Tali has never failed to make me smile. No matter who we are with, or what we are doing, she makes everyone feel loved.

Spencer

Spencer is definitely my match made in Heaven. He is so patient, loving and caring. He really is my biggest fan and I don't know what I would do without him. Spencer works so hard to provide for our little family, and I am so grateful for that. He is always striving to become a better person, which naturally makes me want to be better. Words can't even begin to explain how great he is.

Spencer has a really good sense of humor (you just have to get past the shyness first). He has no problem cracking the the dad jokes, which I am sure our kids are going to love!! Haha.

Spencer loves all things sports. He really is the biggest Jazz fan and always has been. Growing up it didn't matter what sport it was, he always sought out opportunities to play anything and everything. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family, watching basketball and football, and playing ultimate frisbee.
